Having a child can be a wonderful choice, but it requires great awareness on the part of the future parents, because it is an irrevocable life change that involves, at least initially, a revision of one's habits.

People often don't realize that the emotional investment and affective availability that should be devoted to raising a child limit, at least temporarily and above all for the mother, the ability to dedicate herself with intensity and continuity to the commitments that absorbed her energy before the child's birth (work, social life, artistic pursuits, sports, and so on). Added to this is the exhaustion caused by the disruption of schedules and the feeling of no longer having control over one's own time, since it is now dictated by the baby's rhythms.

It is therefore a choice that should be carefully weighed by the couple, without interference from outside pressures (family and social) that often fail to respect their wishes and timing. Having children is not an obligation that everyone must submit to in order to please someone else if they don't feel a deep desire for it. Here too, the choice should be made without outside interference, when people feel they are in the ideal condition to experience it with greater serenity. In certain cases, difficulty conceiving appears as a response to imposed pressure: a way of failing to meet others' expectations, put into action unconsciously by someone who has no other means of expressing their own will when they don't want to, or aren't yet ready to, become a parent.
